Ferragamo: A Hollywood Legacy
After a decade in the making, the Wallis Annenberg Center for Performing Arts (The Wallis) officially opened its doors to the public in October 2013. Located in the heart of Beverly Hills, the new state-of-the-art venue, designed by Zoltan Pali, transforms the iconic 1933 Beverly Hills Post Office into a vibrant new cultural destination.
The opening of the Wallis Center also brings back Salvatore Ferragamo to its Hollywood’s roots, as the fashion brand sponsors a glamorous Inaugural Gala hosted by renowned philanthropist Wallis Annenberg and co-chair Jamie Tisch. The unforgettable evening is completed with a runway show of Ferragamo’s creative director, Massimiliamo Giornetti, Spring 2014 Collection and the opening of a L.A. pop-up shop showcasing special pieces created just for Los Angeles.
Ferragamo turned to UNIT9 with the request to make the star studded gala and the LA pop-up store accessible to all Americans. And in response, we created Hollywood Ferragamo – a beautifully crafted HTML5 microsite, inviting users to shop the limited collection and peek behind the velvet ropes of the dazzling event. Developed using Ajax technology, the Ferragamo’s microsite is fully optimised both for Desktop and mobile devices, ensuring that users get the full experience across all their devices.
In a full screen gallery dedicated to the Inaugural Gala, renowned photographer Oliver Zahm has captured all the glitz, glamour and stardom of the event, leaving you with the feeling you’ve just had champagne with Charlize Theron and tasted the hors d’eouvres by Wolfgang Puck.
After you are done mingling with the stars, watch the exclusive video and enjoy the front seat at the Ferragamo’s fashion show.
Scrolling down the Hollywood Ferragamo microsite users get to explore the L.A. pop up store through the artistic prism of photographer Joël Tettamanti. With mouse, touch and keyboard inputs you are able to navigate through the rooms of the store.
While you browse through the images of the store, you can click on the different articles and explore them in more detail.
And after you fall in love with the special collection you can shop the pieces shown straight from the web experience.
